Obituary for Karen Agnes Clements

Karen passed away peacefully at her home in Calgary on the 24th of August, 2015. She was 73.

All who knew Karen were in awe of her vibrant personality, keen wit, kindness, generosity, and radiant smile. She lit up every room and every life she entered.

Loving wife of Scott Clements, devoted mother of Michelle (Richard Maloney) and Doug (Lorna), she was so proud of and doted on her four grandchildren, Nicole, Anna, Ryan and James.

Daughter of Fredrick Loftus Small and Dorothea Louise Trotter, she was raised in Scarborough, Ontario. She is a 1963 graduate of the Toronto East General Nursing Program. During her long career as the well-traveled military wife, she was by and large a stay-at-home mom, but also did much volunteer work as a nurse. She performed very well her challenging official roles in support of Scott’s long career in the Air Force.

There will be a ceremony to celebrate her life at Snodgrass Funeral Home in Okotoks (200 Woodgate Road 403-938-3111) on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 2:00pm. There will be a reception in Karen’s honour at Cockpit of the RCAF Officers Mess (158 Goucester St., Ottawa 613-233-3428) on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 from 4pm through 7pm.
