Family Care
Families are often unsure of what takes place following the death of a loved one. We have created this page in order to educate and guide those we serve. There is helpful information on prearrangement as well as what takes place following a death. There are also forms and educational information that may be viewed for your ease. Please don't hesitate to call our offices with any other questions or concerns.
Prior To Death Occurring
Often families will want to take care of as much as they can prior to the death having taken place. This allows extra time for information to be gathered as well as service arrangement discussion. Snodgrass Funeral Homes will assist family members in their ideas as well as document any information in regards to Death Registration or service information. Snodgrass Funeral Homes offer a number of Prearrangement Options.
Following the Death
At Home - If the death has occurred outside of a health care facility, simply contact either Snodgrass Funeral Home (High River or Okotoks) and our staff will guide you through what needs to happen next. If the death was expected (ie: terminal cancer) we will be able to complete the removal without the involvement of the R.C.M.P.. If the death was unexpected we will contact the R.C.M.P. who may then involve the Medical Examiner's office.
At a Health Care Facility - If the death has occurred at a health care facility the family may contact the funeral home themselves or advise the staff that Snodgrass Funeral Homes will be taking care of the funeral arrangements. The family will then contact the funeral home at their convenience to schedule an appointment for the funeral arrangements to be made.
